I started on the rewrite of the Hangman series (my NaNo 2011 project). I remade it from 5 novels to a trilogy, but it's going to be odd fitting everything I want into only 3 books.
Right now, I'm working on the first book, titled Lost, but I do have bits of Found and Redeemed. I'm using the Scrivner program since I bought the full version today. I'll probably post some excerpts here.

Christmas, Writing, & Getting Ready for New Year's
I've survived Christmas with relatively little damage. Got Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and underwear (of course) with some other things. Played a tiny bit of Oblivion, but found a renewed interest in Toy Soldiers.
I'm a bit surprised that I'm getting increasingly interested in completing the rewrite of my Hangman series, which served as my NaNoWriMo 2011 project. I think that I'm going to need to buy a lot of spiral bound notebooks next fall, but I think that we've got enough for my writing habits at home. I'll see about putting some parts of what I'm working on in future posts.
New Year's Day brings a new year (obviously), but it also brings new chances for excitement. I've already created my 2012 writing spreadsheet. I'm hoping to put some more time in with the Old Weather Project in Zooniverse, and it's getting easier to read cursive writing and more interesting now that it's more wartime. The ship I'm working on right now is the H.M.S. Ebro, an armed merchant cruiser in WWI, doing patrols in the Northern Atlantic. It's sort of funny when you read "Serviced abandon ship siren" written in the logs.

End of Semester Exhaustion
The semester has come to an end. Finally. I survived my freshman courses with better grades than I expected, though lower grades than I would have liked. My GPA has taken a bit of a beating, but I'll survive.
I'm wishing that school would just start up again. I'm practically ready to throw my Nook across the room because I am sick and tired of reading. Yesterday, I finished one book, read another, and finished a third at 1 in the morning because it wouldn't let me go the hell to bed. In the three hours I've been awake today, I've read about a third of another book.
Next semester is going to be... interesting. APPARENTLY, ASU's course scheduling program is not the brightest thing in the world. Yes, it checks to make sure that two courses don't overlap, but it doesn't make sure that one course doesn't start when another ends.

Post-NaNo and Douchebag Professors
Well, NaNoWriMo 2011 is OVER!!! I managed to survive and win with minimal damage to my grades. My health, on the other hand, is a different matter... Oh well.
I've discovered the douchebag status of some professors. We gave our presentations for our major projects this week. Now keep in mind that there are two astrobiologists in a geology class. The faculty that were asked to come in and help grade our presentations are GEOLOGISTS, and one of them has little respect for astrobiology. After Jon, the other astrobiologist (I'm the other), gives his presentation on proposed landing sites for the future astrobiology field laboratory to Mars, one of the faculty asks him why NASA should spend millions on an astrobiology mission, when A) Mars is apparently one of the most sterile environments in the universe and B) the basic geology is not completely understood. Jon makes a fairly good argument from an astrobiologist's viewpoint. The professor then goes on to say "That is a good argument. For an undergraduate."
W.T.F? Hello, douchebag teacher. All graduate students come from undergraduate students, and this course is crosslisted as both a grad and undergrad course.
